So my mother-in-law recently moved to Colorado. Very disappointing on the demise of the free babysitting tip. Oh yeah I guess we actually miss her (and my brothers-in-law) too :-).
Anyway, she turned us on to the idea of using Yahoo Messenger to do online video calls. I’m sure it can also be done through other products such as AOL IM or Skype or whatever. My mom had actually bought us a computer camera a few years ago to do this very thing, but we just never got around to it.
In any case, we had our first call this past Sunday and despite some initial technical difficulties, it all went well. It was neat to see them and I’m sure she was excited to see her grandchildren, and we’ll probably do this somewhat regularly. Though I have to say I was a little bit weirded out by having a webcam, especially after having watched Heroes.
For all other members of my family who live in far off places, let’s get this thing going!
In other news, I think I’m very excited about the upcoming EFC trip. I keep thinking it’s extra days. For instance, I took the trash out last night, even though trash night is not till tonight. Also, I was thinking I was going to miss the Primary program practice tonight, when it is actually tomorrow night (though I will miss it due to the aforementioned EFC).
