Joel’s 3rd Birthday November 19, 2007
Today was a busy day! Not only did we all get to go to Scott’s Thanksgiving Feast, today is also Joel’s 3rd Birthday. Our little guy is growing up. We’ve been talking up his birthday for weeks now and everyone was very excited this morning. Amy and Scott greeted Joel first thing this morning screaming, “Joel!! It’s your birthday!! Happy birthday Joel!! Joel you’re 3 today!!” So Joel, taking the cue from his older brother and sister, got really excited too. He kept saying, “I’m 3, I’m a big kid.” We have a birthday banner that we always hang up for family birthdays. The kids love to see it up and they all try to jump up and touch it. Amy is the only one who can really reach, but the kids all have fun trying. And here are the birthday pictures you’ve all been waiting for!!
What a happy kid. Check out that awesome chocolate ganache cake I made. It was so rich that I could only have one little slice. But boy was it yummy.
Joel had a hard time blowing out the candles but Mommy gave him a little help.
It was a fun day. Happy Birthday Joel!

the cake was too rich. there’s still half of it.
please eat it. though you may not like it, it’s loaded with dark chocolate ganache. even i couldn’t finish my slice. it was just too rich.
