{"id":496,"date":"2009-05-27T09:59:33","date_gmt":"2009-05-27T14:59:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.regoarrarr.com\/blog\/?p=496"},"modified":"2009-05-27T09:59:33","modified_gmt":"2009-05-27T14:59:33","slug":"increases-in-children-of-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.regoarrarr.com\/blog\/2009\/05\/increases-in-children-of-record.html","title":{"rendered":"Increases in children of record"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, in my continuing series on General Conference talks, this week I decided to combine the <a href=\"http:\/\/lds.org\/conference\/talk\/display\/0,5232,23-1-1032-8,00.html\">Sustaining of Church Officers<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/lds.org\/conference\/talk\/display\/0,5232,23-1-1032-9,00.html\">Auditing report<\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/lds.org\/conference\/talk\/display\/0,5232,23-1-1032-10,00.html\">Statistical report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I always find the statistical reports interesting (of course I do!)  <\/p>\n<p>One thing that was interesting to me was the difference this year in the increase of children of record.<\/p>\n<p>2005 (reported in April 2006): 93,150<br \/>\n2006: 94,006<br \/>\n2007: 93,698<br \/>\n2008 (reported this past conference): 123,502<\/p>\n<p>One of these things is not like the other, one of these things doesn&#8217;t belong&#8230; <\/p>\n<p>So, for those of you who are unsure what exactly <b>are<\/b> children of record, I believe they are both births of members and under age 8 children of adults who are baptized.  <\/p>\n<p>So I&#8217;m not sure what is going on.  There must have been some change in the way that this is being calculated.  There&#8217;s no way this can be accounted for with just more babies.
