Check out this article from CNN. A Staten Island family has found over $1100 in 3 1/2 years. I did look at their blog, which is at changepot.blogspot.com, looking for ideas, but didn’t find any. I’m sure they get more just from being in NYC where there are just more people.

I found a quarter a the Y today! Actually what happened is that a woman came over to work out at the machine next to me. Right away she dropped a quarter and she said to her friend, “Oh I get that when I’m done.” Then she worked out then then left. She was busy talking to her friend so maybe she forgot about it. I just can’t imagine that she didn’t want to bother picking up her quarter. Several other people walked past the quarter as I continued to work out. When I was done, it was still there so I picked it up. Maybe no one else wanted to pick it up because it was right next to my machine. You’d have to assume that I dropped it and it was mine. At any rate, I got myself a quarter toady.
